OK, looking at my schedule for the next couple of weeks, im simply not going to have time to arse around with steel fabrication (not to mention that my Arc welder went up the creak two weekends ago - and I aint splurging 200 quid on a new one this month, simply cant afford to do so with car tax, service and MoT due in August)

What you'll have is basically the same setup we used at Eagles for the mortar. Strike a Mk 5, then chuck it down the barrel.

I will, however, build the mortar bipod and baseplate so that they can be attached to a steel barrel when I have time to make one up - to save duplicating work in the future.

So, additional pyro from my POV is a box of mk 5's

Major has boxes of ball grenades cheap - more like dropping a mortar shell into the barrel than a mk5, even if the BB's won't come flying out!
No lead times, no make up time, no delivery cost/time, we can have 'em at cost.

All right, hang on. Can we not put something together out of painted drainage pipe and fire rockets out of it? We can make it small enough to fit in a car.

People were well impressed with the Katyusha and that was just a few bits of 2x1 with some pipe!

Is Guy still building a Nebel, now he's back on for Husky?

No, Guy has no means of transporting anything large.

I don't think so, because he was talking about towing something. But surely we could go a little smaller and less complicated.

I could try and put something together that's just mounted on a bit of metal work that could fit in my car. Some 5" piping a wooden frame and a load of fireworks could work wonders.

I'll have a shufty in B&Q tonight and see if I can come up with something.

No! Guy can't bring anything big - no landy, just a car.

Fireworks is yet another thing so source and Jay has the mortar in hand - I can't see much point in shoving up a bunch of sticks, it has a least got to look reasonable. A thumping mortar in the distance is just as realistic for the enemy to target, and for the mortar crew dropping bangs down the barrel is more realistic and safer too - rockets are very iffy H&S-wise. At the very least we would have to let them off so depriving the game of player participation...

OK, no skin off my nose.

*Won't mention that Ranj was letting the fireworks off at Bryansk. ;)

Guy has sold the landy (or will have next week) and can't guarantee anything to replace it with anything by game day - so it's safer to assume that he can't bring anything big.
He is dropping ammo boxes, det kit and flags off at my place tomorrow just in case things go tits up and he is off to scamland after all.

He was fine. I spent most of the Sunday with him and was saying how much he enjoyed it. I saw him making big runs for the crossroads at the end of the day.

Hmmm, that's good then. Yes, I remember he stuck with it right to the end. Strange he has dropped off the radar.

Right-ho. Better things to do with his time than waste them on a forum, good for him!

Even more off topic - Imp was fretting he wasn't on the 'booked in' list. I explained you were away, checked he had made the Paypal payment and stuck him on the list.

Lol!!

As if by magic:

Hi Helga,

I'll be booking in for this shortly so please count me in for the Veggie option, if it's going.

Cheers

Ranj

Updated.

Some help with random German documents/photographs would be appreciated. They don't need to say anything in particular, they just need to be in German!
